Biography of Voivod of Lodz Mrs. Jolanta Chełmińska
Voivod Chełmińska was inaugurated Łódź second woman governor on November 29, 2007, when she took the oath of office.
In 1973 graduated from the University of Łódź, Department of Economy and Sociology, major in Econometrics. During the period 1973 - 1979 she worked in the National Bank of Poland in the fields of loans and IT. From 1979 she is an employee of the PKO BP S.A. Bank, first working as the Head of the First Branch. Passing through various level of professional carrier in 1998 she was promoted to the position of the Director of the Regional Branch of PKO PB. As a result of organisational changes, which took place in the bank from 2004 she fulfils the function of the Director of the Regional Corporate Branch of the PKO BP SA.
She completed various courses and training developing her professional competences. Some of the most important are: the Course for candidates to the Supervisory Boards, Human Resources Management, Leadership in management, Managing change.
She readily participates in social life:
- Chairperson of the Łódź Voivod’s Economic Award Chapter
- Member of the Fair Play Prize Award Chapter in łódzkie voivodship
- Member of the Board of the Association 500 Club
- Member of the Award Chapter Professional Manager of Łódzkie Voivodship
- Member of the Business Council in the Department of Management, University of Łódź
- Member of the International Women’s’
- Member of the Board of the Łódź Branch of the Polish Economic Society
- Initiator of the Women’s Movement for integration with Europe.
For hear involvement she received many awards such as the Gold Cross of Merit, the City of Łódź Merit Badge, Honorary Badge of the Łódzkie Voivodship, Patron of culture, The inhabitant of Łódź of the year 1999. Privately she a mother of two grown up children and a grandmother of two grandchildren. She divides her free time between her family, theatre and reading a good book. She doesn't belong to any political party.
